For generations, our family has valued living a life of service whether that be to our animals, our family, our community, the land or our country.

My great-great-grandfather ran a livestock farm in Carroll County breeding race horses in the late 1800’s. My grandfather journeyed from a childhood spent in Rockhold Kentucky on the family farm, to growing his own family here in Maryland. He spent his adult years serving the Sykesville community as the town police chief among many other community positions throughout his career. My father coached local youth sports for over thirty years and dedicated his retirement to a Veteran operated organization thelink-up.org that provides local military veterans outdoor experiences through hunting and fishing. My other grandfather served in the army during the Korean War.

I am proud to follow in the footsteps of the many farmers, fireman, paramedics, school teachers and nurses who make up my heritage. I could talk for days about their lives and stories, which have all shaped me into the person I am today.

My husband James hails from New Zealand where he was raised in the country and has a strong passion for the outdoors, hunting, fishing and living off the land. His family includes sheep farmers, school teachers and ancestors in military service.

As for me, it has taken three generations to get back to the farm where I now raise our family. I strive every day to honor my ancestors in deed - giving back to the land, building healthy soil, which in turn raises healthy animals to serve our community.
